Territory Manager, Rapid City, SD

Promote drainage products, search for leads in various publications, plan and coordinate presentations to contribute to the growth and development of our drainage products in Western South Dakota.

Essential Position Requirements:
• Promote the company and its strengths.

• Promote and sell products to consulting civil engineering firms, county engineers, DOT engineers, townships, municipalities, state and federal agencies and contractors within the territory, especially Spiral Rib, Box Culverts, Truss/Beam Bridges and Structural Plate

• Search out leads for new projects within the territory, contact designers and promote company and its products.

• Review trade papers, magazines and newspapers for new projects.

• Advise office of leads and review Leads Report making changes and updates to the report.

• Attend trade shows and industry association meetings within the territory, state or region, to promote the company and its products.

• Attend bid lettings on projects within the territory and provide support at the bid lettings to make sure our prices are distributed to every plan holder or contractor

• Provide support, at the company level, to reach company objectives, i.e. Pulling plans at DOT and design firms, providing pictures or video of past or current projects or assist with promotional products.

• Prepare and give presentations (including PowerPoint on laptops) for civil engineers, county engineers and municipalities on the company and products.

• Assess the territory’s performance to determine trends for coming year and establish goals for coming year’s business plan.

• Manage territory and spend appropriate amounts at civil engineering firms, county engineers, contractors, county commissioners, etc. to maximize territory’s potential.

• Set up appointments and manage schedule on a weekly basis

• Report weekly on results of past travel plans, appointments and calls (i.e. who you met with and why).

• Report weekly on expenses.

• Promote Spiral Rib and Snaptite products for relining.

Education & Work Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Sales/Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience. Minimum of five years experience in a related field.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Knowledge or experience in continuous improvement.

• Customer Service skills.

• Communication skills with ability to interface with customers and office.

• Ability to understand proper installation procedures.

Physical Requirements:
• Requires prolonged sitting, driving, some bending, stooping and stretching.

• Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

• Requires physical fitness.
